Absolutely fantastic service! They came for a smallish oak tree that was infected with oak galls. They stopped by for their estimate on time. They gave me a very competitive quote, so we were off to a great start. To make things even better, and thanks to lady luck and, a sudden change in their plans (someone else canceled?), we were able to accomodate my request sooner than originally scheduled.

The crew was here on time, worked superbly fast, and took down this tree in a very short time. Their clean up after the fact was stellar. It was like magic, they made the tree disappear! Gabriel and his crew had expertise, equipment, and a willingness to work very hard. I called Castillo because my simpatico neighbor Jose Salazar was well satisfied. I had a tough job that needed to be done, as will be explained, and Gabriel Vazquez and his crew furnished me an affordable value.

I had an overgrown weed that was growing to the sky, and threatening to fall into the neighbor's satellite antenna (see photo). Based upon my friend and neighbor Jose Salazar, I send an e-mail on Sunday hoping it would be seen on Monday. By Monday, Gabriel offered to come and submit an estimate based upon his expertise. It took him about 60 seconds to come up with a figure that did appeal to me. I didn't even follow through with his competitors; instead I called each of the competitors to say that the job was already done. He fitted my job in between on the next day. He personally climbed the ladder and expertly took down the threatening tree, with an even larger stump ground away.

One thing to well observe is that Gabriel has obviously excellent management skills on top of his tree expertise, marketing skill, and business capital management.

I think I got excellent value and if Gabriel gets as rich as he probably is becoming, then Gabriel deserves it! I would love to have him as "the (multi-)millionaire next door!

Amazing! Simply amazing. Gabriel came on Father's Day, a day early and just started working. Prices were reasonable and took him only about 20 minutes to complete the job. He made sure the area was clean after the job and used his blower to clear the area. I would definitely use him again and again.

After 20+ years in CV, I decided to remove a very large, messy cedar in the front yard with branches extending over the roof, into power lines and over the neighbors' yard. After speaking with several tree specialists, I selected Gabriel and was not disappointed. He and his crew showed up on time and began immediately. Within several hours, the more than 50 ft cedar tree was hauled away. He ground the stump and covered the area with chips which looks very attractive. They left the driveway and front lawn spotless. I found Castillo Tree Service on Yelp and decided to give them a try. My call was answered on the first try by Gabriel and he was very polite and knowledgeable. He came over within the hour to look at my trees and give me an estimate. We set a date for he and his crew to come out the following week due to rain but luckily with the dry weather he gave me a call and they were able to come sooner. The trees look great and the fee was reasonable.

Gabriel was very proactive and on time as he came by to give me an estimate a week ago to trim an oak tree and an insidious overgrown bush both on each side of house facing the street.

Crew of 5 arrived a week later, as promised, and immediately put their hard work to the test. Clean up fantastic.

Wow, called at noon on Saturday, had great estimate within an hour. They came on Monday, asking if it was convenient to arrive an hour early, YES! I just used Gabriel today to trim a large maple tree--Gabriel and his crew did a great job,cleaned up very well,all at a reasonable price.

Gabriel and his team arrived 30 minutes early and were setup and in the tree within 10 minutes. I've seen some tree trimming experts not exercise safe practice techniques but his team is not the case. At the end the rest of Gabriel's team (5 guys) showed up to clean up the branches and leaves and left the front yard spotless. I will definitely use Castillo Tree Service again.

I had some reservations that all these 5 star reviews were real but I can say most assuredly, he's for real. When I hired Gabriel his estimate was nearly half of my first quote so I thought why not? The first guy (with the high estimate) looked at my tree and his primary reaction can only be described as "fear". It was a huge Monterey Pine and he kept pointing out all the ways this was going to be a difficult job. When Gabriel came out he kept walking around the tree looking up not saying a word, then studied it from another angle another angle again and again. Finally he completely relaxed and quoted this amazingly low price and his demeanour gave me total confidence he knew exactly what he was getting into. In fact, I think he had already mapped out in his head which branch was coming down when and what the ground crew would be doing. When he was actually doing the job it was like a predator attacking a prey. He was fast, efficient and left the yard cleaner than when he got there. I highly recommend him.

Today, Gabriel and his 5 man crew did an outstanding job trimming/cutting trees on both sides of my backyard. They were on time, left my yard and my neighbors' yard in perfect condition. A large tree branch fell in my yard. Gabriel arrived same day I called for the estimate. We agreed on the price and scheduled for the following day to remove the large branch and trim two large overgrown trees.

Gabriel is a star ! He was prompt as soon as we contacted him. He was there within 20 minutes to give a quote. He gave a competitive quote. There was a mother company which gave a similar quote but we were very impressed with Gabriel's promptness.

He was also available the next day itself to remove a giant Yucca in our backyard. On the day of the tree removal he arrived and was on time, he also agreed to remove a few other small trees for a reasonable charge.

We had some thin but tall trees that started leaning on our home after some needed rainfall, and we did not feel confident taking care of it ourselves. They came out and were able to give us an estimate right away and scheduled a crew to come back a couple of days later. Their 3 person crew was friendly, efficient, and cleaned up afterwards and left no trace. My toddler was also stoked that they found a toy ball in the process and placed it safely to the side while they demolished the trees.

I had a tall pine that was hanging over my neighbors roof and needed to be removed. I saw the great reviews on Gabriel so I called him. He was very accommodating and came out early the next morning to give me a quote. Very fair price so I didn't even bother with other quotes. We made an appointment for my day off at 7:30 a.m. At 7:15 a crew of 6 showed up. They did an excellent job. I also had them thin two trees in the front. They were careful not to damage the fence under the tree. They were fast and efficient. They cleaned up all the debris and an hour and a half later they were on their way. I would highly recommend Gabriel Vazquez and Castillo tree service of Hayward.

I wanted to remove four 50' juniper trees in my backyard along with a couple smaller trees that were on my grass. I called up about five different tree service guys and each came over to give me a quote. Gabriel was literally half the price of the cheapest quote so I gladly decided to give him my business.
He arrived on time with four assistants. There was some climbing involved because two of the trees were too close to the house. The rest were easier because they were able to guide the initial cutting of the tree down to the tree stump. They had to remove part of my side fence gate in order to fit the tree stump grinder machine. The entire job lasted about three hours. They cleaned up very nicely afterwards and had plenty of mulch for other areas of my backyard. The only downside was that Gabriel accidentally cut through some of my irrigation piping. I can't knock him for that because he specifically asked me about the location of the piping before he started in that particular area. Since I didn't know the answer (it was installed underground way before I owned the house), I told him to just do the best he could. Anyway, I just need to go to Home Depot or Lowe's and buy a few pieces of PVC pipes to fix it, which is not a big deal.
Overall, I had an excellent experience with Gabriel and it was cool to see how the pros remove trees. I'll gladly do business with him again and would definitely recommend him for any type of tree services you need.
Last but not least, I found out he does fence building work and sells firewood as well so I got some quotes for that before he left.

I must admit, I don't need tree services very often at all, so when the time came after 15 years of home ownership, I turned to my parents. They recommended Gabriel who came out immediately, gave me a fair estimate, and promptly returned the next day (5/19/17) to do the work. Never in all my years have I seen a more professional & courteous crew. They arrived on time and went straight to work. Gabriel climbed the tree to a height of nearly 50 feet and delicately laid down enormous branches for his crew to process. They made sure that not a single flower petal was touched in my garden directly under the falling branches. And best of all, they cleaned the yard up better than they found it... like it never even happened! I have since recommend him to all my neighbors and even used him again at another property (7/19/17) that included complete tree removal and stump grinding. He has his own trucks, grinder and wood chipper so there is no running around, renting a truck and the needed tools to get the job done. They showed up at 7:30am and were done by noon - just as promised.

Gabriel came out and gave me decent quote to remove a tree and grind out another stump we had. During the quote he told me that he could start as soon as I was ready. Gave him a call later in the day and he said he and his team would be right over in the morning to get the job done. I will say, they did show up bright and early and a little past mid day they were done. We done run into one problem I don't believe was his fault, and that is the only reason I removed one star. However, Gabriel and his team is great and I don't think I would hesitate to give him a call if I had another job for him to do.

Last night, severe winds blew a 20-year old ash tree over to where it was leaning on my back fence. I called Gabriel this morning to see if he could come over to discuss my options - I really didn't want to remove the tree if it could be saved. He was at my house an hour later! After looking at the tree, and trying to move it to be straight enough to possibly keep it alive (he couldn't move it even a bit), we agreed it should be taken out.

We needed to remove 2 trees and trim 3 large trees. We were going to go with another company until my next door neighbor recommended Castillo's. I called and left a message Gabriel returned my call and said he could come out and give me a quote the next day. His quote came to be soooooo much cheaper than the others and they were able to come out sooner too!! Do not hesitate to call them. My yard was clean by the time they were done (they even removed a pile of leaves for us).

Gabriel and his crew are the best. They came on time and completed a deep pruning of my entire front and back yard. The job included pruning four 30' tall trees, three very large hedges, a large bougainvillea, large plumb tree, large pomegranate tree, our beautiful crape myrtle natchez multi-trunk, half a dozen hydrangeas, a medium sized Japanese maple, removed our dying apple tree, and pruned dozens of other small plants. They spent 8 back-breaking hours making everything look perfect. By the end they had a pile a branches and leaves about 9 feet tall and 25 feet long in front of our house. Gabriel has his own chipper machine and by the end all the mess was cleaned and our property looked spectacular.
Because it looked so good, 3 of my neighbors stopped by and got him to quote their houses. This guy is the best and he won't leave you feeling icky because he over charged you. His prices are reasonable and fair.
And one more thing. He knows what he's doing. He gave me a small lesson of how I can prune my fruit trees in the future and even though I was fully paying attention, I could never do as good of a job as he can. He is both an artist and master plant care taker.

Gabriel was extremely punctual and arrived right on the dot for our free estimation. During the day of the actual service, he arrived on time and was extremely thorough and clean. He was invested in not only the aesthetic appearance of our yard but also gave us great advice to ensure our trees stayed healthy. Him and his workers were very skilled and efficient at their job. He was also extremely polite and completed the agreed tasks within the time frame. He was also very prompt with his communication via text and phone.

I would highly recommend him to anyone else considering trimming their trees!

They completed a full backyard clean out, which included removing several very large trees, many overgrown shrubs, and pruning back neighbors overhanging trees. The stumps, many in hard to get to places, were ground down to my specifications (below ground level) and large roots were removed to prepare for new landscaping. I highly recommend them. Definitely a 5 Star company.

Gabriel came to my house to give me a quote on removing a tree stump that was fairly large. he gave me a really cheap quote and then came on the date we picked on time.worked fast and make sure everything was picked up like it was when he got there. very pleased with the service and will be calling him again if I have any further tree needs. highly recommend!

Fantastic service. Very professional. Gabriel came very quickly, gave us a very fair quote and scheduled the service for our convenience. He and his crew knew exactly what to do with our very large tree that hadn't been trimmed in a long time. Not only do they do a great job trimming the tree but they also cleaned everything up so well we couldn't even tell a tree was trimmed. Gabriel arrived only 10 min after I called for a free estimate and quoted me a very reasonable price for trimming my 20 foot tree. He and his crew completed the job with care and in record time. As well, they did a great clean up job. They even swept off my roof and cleaned the street and drive.
This was a big job and I was very pleased with the outcome. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

We had a number of plants and trees (one of them a big one) to remove at a property we recently bought. We inquired quotes from a few services and Gabriel was the first one to respond and also the first one to arrive at the scheduled time. Actually, he came in earlier than expected. The rest never responded on time so we gave him a try.

He and his team arrived at the house on time at around 8am and got to work right away. He told us it might take until the next day to finish up, but when we checked up on him at noon, he said he'll finish sooner than expected. By 3:30pm, he was completely done and the job he did was clean, professional, and without complications. He even helped us remove the For Sale sign on the house. We gladly recommend him to anyone who needs trees and shrubbery removed at an affordable price.

We had a 50 ft. Red Wood Tree removed, including grinding down the stump, plus we had a large tree trimmed.
Gabriel and his crew did an outstanding job on both trees. They know what they are doing. Very good clean up. Very nice and polite and reasonable priced.
